The ‘Freakier Friday’ Teaser Trailer Is Full of Nostalgia

If the Disney film Freaky Friday is a fun version of the “I wish you spent a day in my shoes” debate between parents and their kids, the sequel should be a, “You’re never too old to learn” argument.

The teaser trailer for Freakier Friday–the long-awaited follow-up to the 2003 comedy hit–is here, and it looks like it’s going to be an entertaining multi-generational romp families will get a kick out of.

Freakier Friday stars Academy Award winner-Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprising their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman.

As explained via a synopsis from Disney, “The story picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”

The teaser really captures the energy of the previous film, with Curtis and Lohan effortlessly picking up their good comedic chemistry. And it looks like the story is leaning in to the actual 22 years that have passed for the characters to great effect.

Fans should get a kick out of Lohan in mom mode (albeit body-swapped), while Curtis has always seemed to perform naturally in whatever stage of life her character is in.
