Nice looking watch
I wanted an inexpensive watch that was still a nice looking one and this is it. It is a classic style watch that looks good and is easy to read. I had a bit of a problem getting it to the right size for my wrist and opening and closing the band. The instructions werenât helpful but I more or less figured it out and am happily wearing it now.

The strap does not close with a buckle. The closure with the strap did not work.
The watch did not close with a traditional buckle. The closure a kind of clip did not work.I had to return the watch. Do not recommend .

complicated metal clasp closure on the strap
Overall, this is a very nice watch. Â However, it is NOT your typical buckle. Â I decided to keep it after I figured out the strap closure. Â But let me warn ya… it’s initially complicated to figure out. Outside of the vague photos on the product page (which should clearly show how the strap opens & which parts are adjustable) there are no obvious warnings or directions. Â Even the enclosed watch directions came in print so tiny that a magnifying glass is required. Ultimate downside is that it is not as quick or easy to put on/take off or adjust the length. However, once you put it on and take it off a few times, it’s fairly easy to understand. I went from extremely frustrated to really liking the way it looks… and the fit was perfect. I’m liking that it looks a bit better than the one I usually buy with a regular buckle (on the buckle side). Â Just trying something different. Â Simplicity and function are things I value. Â But I don’t know how functional this clasp will be after some time. Time will tell.HOW TO OPEN/CLOSE THE STRAP:To double check if it was just me being clueless about this wristband, I asked two other people who never used such a strap to try & open this clasp minus directions. Â I took pity on them after 5 min. and decided to write this review.- It will arrive closed. Â Don’t pull at the metal chunk on the outside of the watch that says TIMEX. Â That piece is what you pull at to change the hole it is in and adjusts the length. Â Pull at the metal bar on the inside of the watch. Â You can pull at either side and it will click open pretty easily. Â Some confusion will come because you’ll be afraid to break something and might not pull hard enough at things.- One side will open. Â There is also a second/opposite side you will need to pull at so it opens fully. Â You likely won’t fit your hand in there until you open both ends.- As far as I can tell the strap ends stays connected by the metal until you pull at the “buckle” that says TIMEX and remove it from the hole. Â Then the watch ends will separate.- You won’t know what hole size you need until you strap it on your wrist.- Put it on your wrist. Â You will need to snap it shut in 2 places, one at a time, from each end. Â Each end folds over and clicks shut. Â Then put your strap end through the 2 free loops and see if it fits.- If it does not fit, you will need to remove it from your wrist first. Â I pull UP at the end of the leather strap like a lever and it clicks right open on one end. Â Then you pull open the opposite end.- Once the watch is removed and fully open, adjust the length by pulling at the metal chunk that says TIMEX. Â You might have to pull a little hard. Â On the underbelly is a metal stub that fits in the holes. Â Once open put it in the hole you need and try it back on.

The Band was not well designed
The Timex time piece is terrific and worthy of your investment. The leather band on this item was not well though out, more specifically the latching device. Too cumbersome to be usable. I have returned and will be purchasing another Timex but picking a more standard leather band.

Another Great Buy From Amazon
I ordered a Timex watch for everyday wear. I am not disappointed. It is very nice looking and perfect for anytime. The numbers are very easy to read. The size is right. I have a small wrist so I have to buy a watch with an adhustable band, and the one I chose is leather. it is also a very neat clean looking band. all in all I am very well pleased. About the delivery, it was perfect as well. It was carefully packaged which is always appreciated, and it was left right by the door which made it easy to retrieve. Thanks Amazon for another great order!

Strange band closure
This watch does not have the typical band with buckle. No, it has an awkward folding closure that is difficult to work with and does not have any kind of adjustment to it. I am stuck with their band size. I like the clock face so Iâm keeping it. But Iâm buying a new buckle from Amazon.

strong clasp
This watch is great . Timex reliability. The clasp and adjustment are unusual but as soon as you get the hang of it your good. This watch will not come undone, fall off and be lost !

Difficult to put on / take off
It’s larger than I anticipated but it’s so easy to read. That’s nice. The band is absurd — not a regular traditional clasp — and I’m sorry the description doesn’t specify up front that if you have arthritic hands (and anyone who wants a face this side just may be on the older side. . . ) you might want to consider something different. I’m sorely disappointed.

I bought this watch for my elderly mother and was really disappointed in a company like Timex putting such a complicated band on such a good watch. I had to purchase a separate traditional band for her to use this watch.
