    Good basic watch
This is a good, basic, accurate watch. Yes, it has a plastic body; the bezel does not rotate; and the lume, such as it is, is not very good. However, it is lightweight, classy looking, keeps excellent time, and-so far- has been water resistant and very comfortable to wear. On my watch, the Velcro strap was difficult to get on and off and I changed it out to a 22 mm NATO strap. That it is solar powered, nice looking, easy to read, and reliable makes it an excellent value.

    Nice looking, high quality
Over the years I’ve bought many watches, some expensive and some cheap. You can’t beat Timex’s quality for the price. This watch is sporty and looks expensive. It is big but not chunky. It’s also lightweight. The band is strong and easy to clean. One of my other favorite timex watch has a leather band, that when I sweat at work, the leather band absorbs and it smells bad. This is not going to be an issue with the silicone band. I am so happy with this watch, I would buy another one.

Good value for $50, but returning
Pros:-Large face-Solar powered-Light weight, comfortable strap-Date window-Easy to read/minimalist presentation-Matte black finish for less glare-Deep dial, with marked dial ring and high contrast orange indicatorsCons:-Lume lasts about ten minutes after UV light charging-Lume is less bright than my four year old Seiko-ONLY the two hands are lumed (nothing on the dial)-No lumed “noon” indicator (so you can’t tell the time in the dark) [you need the position of the two hands and a referenced against the 12 o’clock position in order to tell the time. This watch gives you 2/3]-Hands are almost the same width, making distinguishing between the hour and minute hands difficult in lighted conditions, and very difficult in low lighting-Bezel does NOT rotate (no practicality, only fashion)-Solid plastic bezel, crystal, and case-Muddy gray marker and text does not contrast/stand out well against the blackCompared to my Seiko SNK805, this watch is:-thicker (even though the Seiko is an automatic)-wider (easier to read)-louder (every movement of the second hand has a “click”)-crown at the 3 o’clock position (as opposed to the more comfortable 4 o’clock of the Seiko)-plastic case VS steel case-ZERO lume on the watch dial-only a date window, compared to day/date of SeikoNice enough for the price, but without the rotating bezel (the main reason I chose this watch), lumed dial, and too-similarly sized/shaped/colored hands, this watch is being return. A nice starter watch, but a step down from what I have relied on for years.

    I Like Everything About It…
I’ve had a Timex “Expedition” watch for about the past twenty-five years now, and the old one still works great! So why get this new one? The battery was probably about to wear out with the old one, and I liked the fact that this one was “solar”, so I would never have to worry about a new battery again. I really liked the way this one looked too. The watch face is probably 30-40% bigger than my old one, and has the solar-cell “honeycomb” look to the background of the watch face. Pretty cool. I really do like everything about how it looks and feels. The velcro band is also wider and feels very secure. For the price, I think it is an excellent watch. And if it is anything like my last one, it should last longer than I do. So I guess that is long enough. I have only good things to say about old, and now new, Timex “Expedition” watches. They are simple, sturdy, dependable, and good. What more do I need. Jim W.

    Times solar
It not a good purchase, it stopped working after just two months. Doesn’t keep time stops and starts all different times.

    solar watch
Over all 4/5. Great time keeping, easy to tell time (can be better), and hands do illuminate but fade over time in darkness. For $42, awesome value. Some say you can get it for $25, and it is very much worth it!My dislike are: hour indexes do not glow like the hands nor the numbers. Only50m water resistant which means the watch can not be submerged for extended time.Great value watch. For $50ish more you can get the Timex expedition north, which I think is better: indexes to glow and is 100m water resistant. Next step would be a sne331 citizen for about $169 currently or a Seiko for $199.

Look good, feels super cheap and band is terrible.
When I was a kid, it was always exciting to go to the big store and see the timex watches, pick them up, inspect features. I remember the timex expedition in particular, great weight, good strap, handsome watch. Finally got one for christmas and that watch lasted a really long time–under rough kid usage. since then, I’ve started an amateur watch collection (this piece is not really part of it) and I need a watch to wear everyday for work. I work in the service industry and right away out of the box, I don’t think this thing is gonna hold up. I’d sooner trust the timex expedition from 30 years ago. This thing is light as a feather, seems mostly plastic, and the ‘metal’ components on the band broke after two casual wears (not to work). It does feel like a cheap piece of crap, despite the large face and case. Nonetheless, it does look pretty good, it does tell the time, is solar powered, has a couple complications that are convenient (third hand, single day date). I will keep it and wear it casually and replace the band with a new band or one of my better bands that I’ve had for many years (and neither has shown any signs of bending or breaking). Bottom line, this is not the heavy duty tough use watch that it looks like online, and if you buy it, wait for it to be heavily discounted, and buy an additional band at the same time. Note, it the back case plate says stainless steel–that is only that plate. I can assure you, the rest of the case, including the crown, lugs, and the crystal, is straight up plastic. I think I paid around $50 for this watch. Feel I like I overpaid, quite a bit. At least it is solar powered though. The blue strap is a separate purchase.

It is solar, so no batteries dying, it seems tough, ready for hiking or time on the bicycle and it is affordable.
