Fantastic recipes full of flavor
Iâve been reading and listening to Dr Mark Hymanâs books and of course the next step was to try his cookbooks and boy am I impressed. As someone that has taken a good amount of cooking classes and develop recipes myself I am very excited to make these recipes. They are flavor bombs packed with healthy ingredients. I donât find them to be âdiet foodâ type but rather an upscale California restaurant type dishes that are easy enough to make for everyone. Fantastic book, if youâre contemplating buy the book!

Favorite new cookbook!
First of all, I love Dr. Mark Hyman! I have been following him & taking his advice ever since I watched “what the heck should we eat” on public tv years ago … he taught me many things I just did not know, I trust him & that’s a big deal coming from me :)That being said, his new cookbook is awesome! I’ve made many dishes from it already & one of the biggest things I’ve noticed is they are relatively easy to make & don’t take much time in addition to being very healthy & yummy! I did take his advice & stock my pantry as suggested, that made a big difference. This book also makes cooking more fun!

Delicious and wholesome recipes, easy to follow!
I visit Dr. Mark Hyman’s website weekly as a part of my family’s meal planning prep and have never been let down. When this book came out I knew I had to snap it up. I was a little worried there might be repeats from recipes on his website but I haven’t even found one! So far I’ve made the quick kimchi, pickled red onions, the wild rice bowl with smoked trout and coconut cucumber salad, and buckwheat bowl with smoked paprika chicken. I can honestly say I’d happily pay $20+ for these as an entree at a nice restaurant, they’re so good! The ingredients also are easily sourced at grocery stores. So glad I purchased this book, I highly recommend it!

Not your typical cookbook
This is the first cookbook I have purchased where I am truly impressed with every recipe. I received the book on June 4, 2024, and have been trying different recipes from the book for breakfast and dinner. There are so many options to choose from everything has been delicious! The recipes are easy and healthy. Typically, you will just share your favorite recipes with family and friends there were so many delicious recipes I bought my daughter and her husband one. It was easy than sending pictures!You should consider purchasing this book. It is truly Dr. Hyman’s best recipe book!!

Beautifully done; Too many starches in veggie section
The book is a great size with great pics and layout. I love the list of items to have on hand along with their descriptions and the nutrition info. at the back.The recipes look great but will be challenging for a new cook but are doable.As someone who cannot eat starches, I was disappointed to find so many in the vegetable section. Most meals had something with a starch in it, whether beans, squash, arrowroot powder etc…So the book isn’t right for me but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it based on the nutrition profile, ingredients, and flavors included in the recipes.Overall, it’s a great book.

Probably good for people with more time
I was excited for this cookbook because Iâm an avid listener to Dr. Hymanâs podcast and Iâve found some of his recipes on his website to be really great. However, two things I wish I knew before I bought it online:Time:As a parent of a young child, most of the recipes are not quick enough for me to use with any degree of regularity. (I havenât even had the time to make them on a weekend â e.g. pancakes and compote with 17 ingredients). Many of the side dishes have 10-12+ ingredients and many of the main dishes, involve some sort of topping or sauce, plus a side dish, which can be up to 20-25 ingredients.I realize heâs advocating a lifestyle of cooking regularly, but I wish that this included some simple and efficient recipes with ingredients you likely have in your kitchen for weeknights, etc.Allergies:I donât understand why there arenât tips on substitutions for people with allergies. I feel like heâs included those on recipes on his website, but I donât see any in the book.I think this would make a great gift for people with no children or demanding jobs who enjoy shopping and cooking all the time and can keep a fully stocked kitchen. And I donât mean that in a sarcastic way â the food looks really interesting, healthy, and probably pretty tasty.

Mark Hyman, MD is my favorite functional medicine doctor. All of his books are excellent and once again he has written a great book with lots of very healthy recipes.

Fantastic cookbook filled with delicious healthy recipes
I finally received my pre-ordered cookbook and couldnât wait to dive in. So far I have tried the salmon with fennel and citrus salad, it was very tasty and full of refreshing flavors.I love the well-thought-out approach in that the book is organized. I especially appreciate Dr. Hymanâs tips from organizing your pantry to having good cooking tools and equipment to aid in meal preparations. I also find that the directions of the recipes are well laid out and easy to follow.I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to incorporate more delicious and healthy meals made with real, wholesome and nutritious ingredients.

Can I give this book 6 stars? This cookbook helped me loose 22lbs and six months later – Iâm still keeping it off. More importantly, my migraines have disappeared and my menopause symptoms have been reduced by at least 50%

I love Dr Hymanâs work and read a lot of his books, so it only came natural to buy this book!He includes some recipes in his other books but they donât have pictures, which I struggle with. When recipes come without pictures, I usually just donât make them. They donât inspire me for some reason. This book however has photos for (almost) every recipe which I appreciate so much! These days I only buy recipe books with photos.Many of them arenât difficult to make which is super important to me. Some of the recipes include things I donât normally have in the house like tamari, but luckily there isnât a lot of those, since âspecialâ ingredients like this also make things difficult in my opinion. Really appreciate the work of this book and I can highly recommend it!There are two chapters on seafood and meat dishes, otherwise the rest is mainly vegetarian. The book definitely follows the âPeganâ diet that Dr Hyman follows and always recommends, and this is the diet that I try to follow as closely as possible so I donât have to wonder which recipes will be suitable for me. Highly recommend!

I have made at least a dozen things out of this cookbook already and every single one was delicious. I have never had such a great cookbook and I have dozens and dozens of cookbooks. And on top of that, all of the recipes are good for you. I absolutely LOVE this cookbook!

Love the images of the foods, easy to follow recipes, and great info about why we need these foods in our diet. Life is challenging, but eating well helps us deal with the struggles.
