Rom Com 100%
The Hating Game is based on Sally Thorne’s novel, which I havenât read, but I stumbled upon the movie on Amazon. Initially, I was skeptical about the premise. However, after rewatching it months later, I found myself really enjoying the comedy and the palpable tension between the characters. The plot revolves around the main male character falling for his co-worker through a “hate”-fueled game, where their interactions only heighten the tension and chemistry. This rom-com is full of angst and undeniable attraction from the start. Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell absolutely nail the enemies-to-lovers dynamic, making the workplace rivalry feel fresh and exciting.I highly recommend it to fans of rom-coms, especially if you loved How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Cute movie, great cast
I loved this movie. Yes, I read the book when it came out and LOVED it and I’d like to read it again after having seen the film. I know some people will probably not like the movie as much and pick it apart for what was different (I’m looking at my sibling), but I’m not one of them.I’ll admit I was worried when the movie was announced because Hollywood doesn’t always have the best track record when it comes to movies based on books. I thought Lucy Hale’s casting was terrific and Robbie Amell could be great as Josh so I wasn’t thrilled when I found out he had to drop out, especially since I didn’t know who Austin Stowell was. Well, turns out I think he was actually an even better choice. Yes, there’s the face and the body (thanks for the hotel scene! ð¬), but he played Josh perfectly, from his snotty one-liners to his stoic attitude and unwillingness to just be used for sex (pretty sure this only happens in books and movies!).I don’t remember the book enough to comment on the secondary characters, though said sibling was offended that Lucy’s boss was different than described, who knows, maybe after I re-read it I’ll have a few “Wth?!” moments, but I didn’t have any issues with the other characters. The interactions between the opposing publishers’ employees were hilarious, the poor put-upon HR woman was funny and Josh’s family was great (except his jerk of a father, though the actor did a good job) and the drama around their history was portrayed well.I think enough of the scenes and lines from the book were retained for the movie and overall, again, from what I remember, it’s pretty faithful to the book. I don’t actually remember if the donut scene was in the book, but I cracked up when I watched it. Again, poor HR lady.Definitely a cute, funny rom-com with a terrific cast that I’d recommend if you’re looking for something light but with some tension and a good deal of sarcasm and laughs.

Love this movie
I originally rented it on amazon, loved it, watched it several times, suggested it to a friend and they loved it too, the chemistry between the actors is good, and he is very handsome, definitely a must watch if you love romcoms

If you read the bookâ¦
The movie lines along the book but not with the details. It was a cute movie to play in the background but I feel like the ending was super rushed. It didnât really capture the emotions the book did.

One of the best falling in love movie I have ever seen.
I loved this movie!!! It was about two young people who at first did not seem to like each other, but the more time they spend together, they seem to enjoy spending time together. Glad I made the purchase.
