A must-buy for all fans of the genre!
This is a great collection of HK martial arts cinema. Any fan of Shaw Bros. , Golden Harvest,etc. will appreciate these films.The HD transfer of all of these films look great! Severin did a fantastic job here. Many of these films are lost to vhs and poor quality streaming services, so itâs been great see them here in mint condition.As a fan of Lee, I can understand how some can dismiss these films, but regardless there are many excellent martial arts films in this collection that are worth your attention.An interesting point, brought out was that Bruce Lee was thought of as a âcharacter â these actor were playing as⦠like Batman, etc.By many who unaware at the time.There are a few absurd ones in here for sure, but overall they nearly all contain excellent fighting scenes. The 3 main actors: Bruce Lo, Le, and Dragon Lee are excellent martial artists who really gave their best efforts in these films to honor Bruceâs legacy.The documentary is also excellent. Great to hear that more sets are on the way. If they look as great as the films in this set it will be worth it.

Great! My mistake!! And buyer beware!
First off, the documentary is outstanding! Itâs worth it just for that! If you a true fan this set is for you! I have not gotten through the other dvds yet. I thought I was getting over on the price of the box setâ¦well wah wah wahhhhh! The original box from Severin Films included two bonus movies. This set did not! My fault for not checking. It didnât mention it in the Amazon description so I sort took a chance hoping it was there. So buyer beware! I will be giving this set away and get the actual box set from Severin Films. If you donât care the price is right away! Enjoy!!

A buried slice of action film history resurfaces in style!
What can I say? As a Kung Fu film fan, it has always been such a shame to see such a huge part of that part of cinema history be buried under the cold earth of pretension and disregard. Bruce Lee-exploitation cinema would serve as the locomotive of exposing the west to Kung Fu cinema. With Bruce Lee gone and only 4 complete films to his name, a rash of productions sought to use his star power in many ways to bring their own films to success. This decade of movies is now known as Bruceploitation, and Severin Films with actor/director and super fan Michael Worth we get our first official home video release to begin (on the essential 50th anniversary of these films start) what looks to be a restoration of these movies and their piece of the movie history puzzle. Holding a package of over a dozen films and the first documentary on the subject you will be treated to supplements, commentaries and short documentaries that give these films context and authority. No, they are not all great movies, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t entertaining or contain great elements within. Worth offers up a lifetime of studying these movies, collecting memorabilia and getting to personally know the filmmakers and actors with his filmmaking acumen to give this package amazing content. Several of the documentaries Worth made like “Godfrey, The Hero” and “Remembering the Big Boss” give poignant filmmaking tribute to important figures in the set. Commentaries so far are energetic, fun and informative including actual actors and filmmakers from these movies (Godfrey, Clinton Robinson, Caryn Stedman) in a home video first. If you are a collector of home video, a Kung Fu movie history completist or even a Bruce Lee fan (though some who hold him as a religious figure take these as sacrilege) should get this before it is gone. A volume 2 is already on the way and I imagine with good sales, Volume 3 or more. Really fun, giving some amazing first scope transfers to many of these films and in some cases (The Big Boss Part 2, which is part of the Severin-site purchased version) films never to be released on a digital format before. Thank you Worth and Severin for giving this the effort you did. These are a missing or mistreated part of a beloved cinema and can’t wait to get them back in the condition they were meant for!
