Just what my Back Needed!
Once again Sunny delivers. It is well built and designed. Great adjustment features. Really good stability and easy to move around. This is ideal for a small room. It is not bulky. This was selected with that in mind. If you have the space spend the extra money for larger unit. I am 5 10 and it is a good size. If youâre taller I would consider one that is larger, better padding, larger foot pad and larger framing. So far the back extension portion of the unit works well. There are multiple advantages to the adjustments once can make. The dipping bar is great and handled my weight well. No unit shake. The unit does not move. The padding is ok not the greatest. The foot rest is generally okay but wish it was wider and one piece. I found it easy to put together. And they group the parts separately to help build each section. Good directions.

We All Need One
I, along with much of the world, suffer from back problems that are, I believe, largely a result of sitting 90% of my waking hours. This isn’t a magical cure, but this is one step in the right direction. Of course, back extensions are no new discovery, but the fact that you can have one in your home for less than $100 is pretty awesome. The equipment is perfectly sturdy for me as a 6′-1″, 180 lb male. It’s certainly not as sturdy as a bigger, bulkier model you would find in a gym, but I actually prefer this to the back extension at my local gym because of the thinner pad which lets me bend at the hip better. The one at the gym has an enormous pad that prevents me from hinging over the way I would like.I’ve had it for 2.5 years now and it’s doing just fine. I use it off and on and it doesn’t seem any looser than what I remember out of the box or damaged in any way.Just for context, my 5 star rating is based on the quality of the product for the price that was paid. Yes you can get better back extension machines, but for $75, I’m more than pleased.

Nice machine, some assembly required
There is some assembly required, but I like the back extension. The handles are a nice for a low resistance angled push up option. But you cannot really do true dips (knees hit the ground right away) but you can do nice bench type tricep dip/extension with your feet out in front of you like you would do on a park bench. It is mainly for the 45% (etc) hyperextension and is fairly comfortable and sturdy for those.Nice price. Folds up and stows away.Update: After some use, I really have enjoyed this and it is a favorite machine. I rather like the support bars for pushups. And you can (oddly) do dips, but the catch is that the base has no bracket or stop for an upright angle, but it does seem to hold in a position that allows dips.It also easily rolls and stows away against a wall so it does not take up the whole room or garage. But you may want a hook or bungee so it does not fall down (if against the wall).

A bit small for a big person
If you are used to going to the gym and feeling the rock-solid construction of the gym equipment, then working out on a smaller, less sturdy piece of equipment like this Roman Chair will take some getting used to. I am 6 feet tall and I weigh about 210. After the assembly, I tried out some hyperextension exercises and I could feel the back part of the Roman Chair lifting up slightly. Not good to feel the potential for going forward into a nosedive for somewhat uncoordinated folks like me! The assembly was OK. Though the instructions had graphics too small and there were some poorly drilled holes that made it somewhat difficult to get all the bolts in. (The internal threads were a little rough too.) I think this is just too small. I can’t imagine someone 250 pounds using this. And it just seems to short for a person as tall as me. Yes, I’ll use this Roman Chair, but it is not even close to what I was hoping for. I expect to own this maybe a year or less and then I will be giving it away to someone shorter, smaller, and lighter than me. I’m going to estimate this would be more appropriate for someone 5’7″ tall or less, and 170 pounds or less. Considering all of the above, I can’t give this more than 3 stars. If I ever buy a Roman Chair again, I will be willing to pay double what I paid for this, if the Roman Chair is larger and more stable than this equipment.

This thing is sturdy enough for my needs. I got it because I was starting to experience lower back pain as a result of poor posture, having a desk job, and not exercising my back nearly enough. It is easy to assemble. Yes, I spray painted it a more exciting blue colour because, well, the dull grey didnât inspire me to use it. Easy enough to spray paint whatever colour youâd like. More importantly, Iâm 5â9 and 140lb and it handles my weight fine. There are additional holes where you can extend if you are taller (still quite a lot of extension available for me to use). The foam pad for your legs isnât the greatest but for the price I canât complain – it gets the job done. Lastly, I put my feet against the back of the stand, but it would be better if it had a back foot plate. The handles are also quite small, but this is not a commercial machine and it has held up to my use (2x a week) for almost a full year now without any issues or concerns. Itâs stable enough for me to feel secure when holding onto 2x 20lbs dumbbells for weighted extensions. You can probably add even more, but at that point, the pad might start feeling uncomfortable against your pelvis. If you can get it at a reasonable price, it will help your back. No back pain for me since Iâve been using this!
