Read if your cat is struggling to press hard enough!!
These are loud, unlike Fluent Pet buttons (which we returned for this reason). The recording quality isn’t great, but it works well enough. It struggles to pick up certain sounds (‘W’ always sounds like ‘L’, so my cat calls me a liar whenever he wants to play with his wire toy lol).My cat couldn’t figure out how to put enough weight on them to trigger them, so I opened them up and jerry rigged them to trigger with the lightest touch. Inside, there is a little metal piece that sort of pops inside out when pressed (like a freshness seal on a jar lid). When it pops the other direction, it touches another bit of metal, completes the circuit, and the sound triggers. You can take this piece of metal and flatten it out a bit, so that it doesn’t need to actually be popped to work. It will now trigger when the top of the button is just barely touched. It can be kind of finicky to get right (some of our buttons go off on their own sometimes, or go off when moved). This is a lot of work, but my cat could not figure it out without us doing this. After he had gotten comfortable using these rigged buttons to constantly beg for treats and laser pointers every waking moment of the day, I decided it was time to try the non-rigged buttons again. So, I replaced his favorite button (‘treat’, obviously) with a non-jerry rigged button and worked on teaching him to actually press it down.I did this by putting a treat under a tupperware container, saying ‘paw’ and tapping on the top of it, then revealing the treat to him only when he touched the top of the container the right way. Once he had that down, I put the tupperware over the treat button and continued to give him treats when he placed a confident little paw smack dab on the top of the container. Finally, I took away the container, tapped the button, and asked for ‘paw’. He obviously thought I was a moron, because he quickly and lightly pawed at the side of it, with no care in the world, the way he always does with his rigged buttons. But this time it didn’t work. I tapped it and asked for ‘paw’ again, and I could see his neurons stretching to reach each other in that little head of his, as he placed his paw smack dab on the top, and started to experiment with it. Whenever he started to act defeated, I pressed it and gave him a treat to prove this wasn’t some sick joke. I actively trained him for about 20 minutes for a few days, and he would approach the button on his own and try new things in the mean time. Whenever he accidentally triggered it I gave him extra treats. Eventually he figured out how to consistently trigger the button, and now he can use them regularly.

Really wonderful product, just not loud enough for our situation
I highly recommend these with one caveat. They aren’t very loud so if you need to hear them from across a home they might not work for you.I bought these for my 3 dogs, mostly for my geriatric Fox Terrier who asks for everything the same way -one scratch on the front door. And that scratch could mean he needs to go out into the back yard, or he wants me to open the front door so he can gaze out through the screen door, or his water is unacceptably dirty, or… You get the picture. I started with just one of the buttons and recorded my voice easily. The playback was clear, I really am impressed. The problem is, our home is a bit older, about 130 years, it’s not large but we have a closed floor plan with wonderfully thick walls. Unfortunately that means no matter how loud I shouted when recording you can’t hear the playback if you aren’t in the same room as the button. I guess my dog figured the front door is central enough that you can hear him scratch it from most areas in our home. Go figure.

One pack was worth it. IDK about more.
3 STARS FOR -QUALITY- and -QUANTITY vs COST- – 4 STARS FOR THE EXPERIENCE:-QUALITY: The construction is very good. We have 10 pound dogs and 150 pound dog. They all can use them well. The button is not too hard for our little ones, they push it just fine.-QUANTITY vs COST: I think COVID is a vehicle for Exploitation of Consumers by Sellers everywhere. Although, this was the lowest price anywhere, it was still more than the product is worth in function and construction. It’s true that the SOUND QUALITY IS POOR. SOME UNITS ARE CLEARER THAN OTHERS INCONSISTENTLY AND THERE’S A LEARNING CURVE TO RECORDING INTELLIGIBLE SOUND. IT REQUIRES RECORDING A FEW TO SEVERAL TIMES TO FIND A “SWEET SPOT” WITH YOUR VOICE THAT MAKES THE RECORDING UNDERSTANDABLE TO HUMANS OR ANIMALS. With all that effort spent, as you hold it in your hand… the price throbs a bit in you mind. For me, this item (4 for aprox $20/free shipping) is only worth $8 – $12/free shipping for a 4 pack. But it’s COVID and… this is the lowest price (doesn’t make it worth it) for this item… right now.-EXPERIENCE: So for a FleaMarket quality product (performance wise) I put up with rerecording multiple times most every time until I get one that my dogs can understand and when they use it… IT IS A LOT OF FUN!! THEY USED IT THE FIRST DAY AND EVER SINCE.WOULD I BUY AGAIN?YES…ONLY! …ONLY Because of HOW MUCH -THEY- LOVE TO USE IT.WILL I BUY A LOT OF THEM?NO. But I will buy more…UNLESS.. I can improvise my own using other means WHEN I can obtain those parts. I WILL ONLY BUY ONE OR TWO MORE OF THIS TYPE OF SET… GOOD GRIEF!! IT’S ONLY PLASTIC AND IT IS NOT THAT EASY TO GET IT TO RECORD CLEARLY. ALIBABA MIGHT BE MY NEXT PURCHASE SOURCE. IF I DECIDE I WANT TO GO WITH THESE IF I DON’T FIND MY PARTS SOURCE AS SOON AS I WANT.It’s worth a box or two to see if your DOG likes them. But if you want to really get into this, you can find a cheaper Way or Source. THE MORE QUANTITY YOU BUY, THE LOWER THE QUALITY VALUE SEEMS TO BE WORTH IT.SUMMARY:Price vs Quality AND Quantity… NO.Experience… YES. IF THE YOU CAN CONTINUE TO ENJOY HAVING FUN WITH YOUR PET, THEN YOU’RE PAYING FOR THAT HAPPINESS IF THE VALUE IT BRINGS IS WORTH THE PRICE TO YOU. IF YOU’RE MORE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR DOG’S LEARNING, YOU MIGHT APPRECIATE THE VALUE OF A PRODUCT THAT MAKES IT EASIER ON BOTH YOU AND YOUR PET. .. THE PRICE, QUALITY AND ENJOYMENT WILL BALANCE AND WON’T MAKE YOUR HEAD THROB.BUY ONE SET. TRY IT OUT. THE PRICE IS PROBABLY WORTH FINDING OUT HOW YOU AND YOUR PET FEEL ABOUT IT.

Purchased these to use as a dog buzzer for my dog. They are fairly sturdy, easy to record. Need to speak loudly when recording and if you do this they are very clear and easily heard. Would recommend for the price.
