Customers say

Customers appreciate the pants for their value, durability, comfort, and thick material. They find the pants well-made, with a sturdy belt that stays secure even under load. The cotton fabric is not too heavy, making them suitable for work. However, opinions differ on the fit, pockets, and color variety.

    a good old-school pant
what this pant has going for it:* made of 100% cotton duck* made of 0% anything else* broad color selection rather than just “brown or black”* straight stitch construction on the inside leg seam (versus a triple-stitched flat-felled inside seam. i explain my rationale below.)why each of these was an important factor to me:nylon, poly, and flex materials are more prone to unsightly pilling in high-wear areas. flex materials specifically (spandex, elastane, etc) will eventually wear out within a couple years resulting in a slouchy fit.cotton duck OTOH is widely regarded as both being more resilient, but at the same time, lighter, than denim. much like those popular duck cotton work jackets, these pants are so stiff that they can basically stand up on their own when new. but like high quality shoes, i expect them to take on a wonderful patina and softness as they get broken in.the straight stitch inside leg seam means that someone like me, who really only knows how to do straight and zig-zag machine stitches, can easily and cleanly tailor the legs into a slightly slimmer, tapered modern cut if you so desire.while not having triple-stitched seams on both the inside and outside seems like a quality downgrade, i have never owned a pair of pants that gave out on the inside seam, so this is a worthwhile compromise for me.specifics of fit and construction that may work for me but not for you:this is a fairly mid to high-rise pant. they sit at my belly button, which i find more comfortable than lower rise pants that sit more on the hips. i found they fit pretty well through the seat and thigh (stocky leg day physique), but i did slightly slim up the legs from the knee down for a more tailored, neat look.i will fess up to being a “blue collar cosplayer” who intends to wear these for general use rather than rugged jobsite work, as i can’t justify spending $100 or more on a fashion offering that adds inflated cost by branding itself as a “vintage” design. thus, i cannot give any meaningful feedback on the resilience of this fabric. but it feels of equivalent quality to every major duck chore/field coat out there.anyway, if you’re looking for what should be a long-lasting piece, in a synthetic-free fabric, give these a shot. especially if you have an affinity for clothes that actually get better with more wear.

31/32 true to size. UPDATE: comfortable, holding up very well after 2 months of heavy work use.
Pretty decent. True to size. Maybe just a tiny bit small on the waist…they do loosen up as you wear them. Good leg room. I’m 6’1. 180. Fit, not skinny. I got a 31/32. Long enough…some 32s are too short for me. Fit nicely over work boots. I had pants like this a couple years ago when I weighed over 200 lbs and had more of a belly. I didn’t find the waist so comfortable then. I like them now. They are tailored more for someone thinner IMO…but the slightly lower waist line on the pants helps. That’s new I think. Unless you have much bigher than average legs, these should fit most guys with muscular legs. Pockets are decent. Not the biggest or easiest to get big hands into but not bad at all. Fabric is not thin or cheap. I just got some dickies jeans aa well…these are not as thick as those are but still I’m thinking they’ll be pretty durable especially for 20 dollar pants. Color is nice (grey). Biggest issue, that keeps me from rating them 5 stars, is that there is not quite enough crotch room to make them a great fit. It’s not so bad that I’d return them…and I wouldn’t say that they’re uncomfortable but I’d prefer a bit more room on that area. I think that they may loosen up a bit in that area too after a few washes/wears. If they don’t fall apart (not expected), I’ll buy a couple more. UPDATE: after wearing then a lot for 2 months, I can say the pa ts DID loosen up a bit. They are perfectly comfortable and despite heavy use as one of my favorite pairs of work pants and kneeling on concrete sometimes etc…these have held up GREAT.

Size up if you have larger hips/thighs
Bought these in my usual size for men’s pants. These are definitely made for people who have straighter builds as they’re pretty tight around the hips and upper thighs, to the point where it’s hard to put anything in the front pockets while sitting down. Part of the reason is definitely the material, which is nice and tough, but has no stretch. The fit is passable enough to keep wearing them and hopefully wear them out a bit, but I’d order them larger next time.

    Great buy
Best pants I’ve ever bought. It is a stiff material but adds to the quality. Bought the brown and thought it would be a darker chocolate brown as shown in the picture. In reality its much lighter even before washes.

    Looks Great
These pants have been holding up great after a year. They are comfortable and fit every style I have.

Not as slim fit as I had hoped
The quality of these was great but the fit in the calves was a lot wider on my husband than pictured, which was not the desired/most flattering fit for his body type, which is a leaner/more slender build. They also ran long. Loved the price, color, and the waist fit good. But unfortunately, we returned.

    Durable, worth the money
I work construction so these are durable and comfortable. Just wash them before you wear them as it’s a canvas like material and she a stiff out of the box

    Great Pair of Carpenter pants
These pants are extremely well-made and durable. I returned mine only because they were a tad tight with no give around the waist, but that is not the pants’ fault, lol. Otherwise, I would have loved these.

Good price. The fit is great and so far their durability is awesome. Would say as good as Carhart brand.

Se siente de buen material y es muy cómodo.

These are excellent pants, and are fraction of the cost of carh$^$s. Very heavy fabric, good solid stitching, and a comfortable fit.

Nachdem Carhartt in Europa zur teuren Hipstermarke mutiert ist, sind dies die stretchfreien Arbeitshosen meiner Wahl. Wer braucht schon Stretch.
