Music is his passion. It’s in his blood. Yet, Quinn James isn’t sure if stardom is right for him. His family wants him to join a band, and follow in his father’s footsteps but fear holds him back. He can’t explain it, and when he tries, no one understands what he’s afraid of or why he’s content playing coffee shop gigs where no one knows him.

Eleanora Boone wants to live her life, not the one her very southern parents planned for her, which is why she chose a college thousands of miles away. Now she’s faced with returning home or doing something that would defy her family. When an opportunity to visit Los Angeles falls in her lap, she uses it to become someone different.

California is everything Eleanora thought it would be, and even more so when she meets Quinn, the shy, reserved and brooding musician who’s the complete opposite of the guys she’s used to back home.

For the first time, Quinn’s smitten. The new, mysterious waitress has him wrapped around her finger, and he finds that he is finally able to open up and trust someone outside of his family circle.

But living a different life comes with its risks, and for Eleanora, that risk is a secret that has the power to destroy both of them.

    Quinn James
I am a huge fan of the original series and really enjoyed each of those stories. This next gen series has been so-so for me partly because we knew Noah and Peyton would get together and I just didn’t care for Elle’s attitude and behavior in her book. But Quinn’s story hit the spot for me! I absolutely love this guy, shyness and all. But what I adored most was the connection with his mom, the moments they spent together and the love they share for each other. Of course appearances by the guys from 4225 West add so much history and depth, takes me back to the very first book. I could completely relate to Nola, especially with her parents and the need to reinvent herself, be someone different. I really enjoyed how this story unfolds, how everything that happens has such an impact on others. I’m looking forward to the next book.

    Oh Sweet Quinn!!
Rating 4.5 out of 5Oh Sweet Quinn!!Heidi McLaughlin brings the music back with CHASING MY FOREVER, the newest book in the Beaumont Next Generation series. We get to know more about Quinn who captured our hearts as the shy and quiet son of Harrison James. From the beginning of CHASING MY FOREVER, we get an understanding of the importance of family .This is a major theme of all of the Beaumont books and one of the reasons that I’m drawn to them. And because of his childhood, family and acceptance and belonging is especially important to Quinn. We get to know about his family and their closeness and especially how accepting he is of the love from his mom – Katelyn. Early in the book, when his mind wanders to how they became a family “all I remember is my dad and I moving into the twins’ grandparent’s home, where I had my own room, two sisters and a mom who loved me without me asking her to” – THIS nearly broke my heart, but warmed it too. And this let me know that CHASING MY FOREVER is more than just a love story.CHASING MY FOREVER is filled with tender moments and others that made me laugh. Some favorite moments:*Every scene with Quinn and Katelyn*When the guys go camping – especially when Noah and Quinn connect*Katelyn meeting Nola*Nola meeting the family – this girl is really in for it, especially meeting everyone all at once!I especially love how music is brought back into the storyline, first with Quinn playing in open mic nights (like Liam did many years ago) and then with the band. There is just something about music that, for me, elevates the connections and makes the bonds between characters even stronger.CHASING MY FOREVER may be my favorite of the Next Generation books. What else can I say? I loved it!!

    Sigh
I really like Quinn’s story because I can relate to his shyness and how it can come across. Nola is trying to become someone else before she has to go back home. When she goes to California with one of her college friends, she likes how it can be her chance to reinvent herself. Quinn, on the other hand, likes to keep to himself and is happy with living a low-key life. When he meets Nola, he likes that she doesn’t know anything about him. Their is an instant attraction that just pulls them together. They are so right together and things are going great until someone from his past tries to destroy his future. I hope they get another book because there is more to their story.

    Chasing my Forever
My heart aches for Quinn. It has ever since the story of his birth was told. I felt a kinship to him because of issues with one of my own parents. Nola, or Eleanora, is running from her family and the pressure of what they want her to do. She is expected to marry the man her parents have picked for her. Quinn is under his own pressure from his sister to join the band she is putting together. I loved getting to know more about Quinn and Eleanora. Once again Heidi McLaughlin pulled at all the emotions and kept me hooked.

Every book from this serie has become my favorite. I really like this author, the stories she creates, especially this serie. It makes you feel every emotion, the characters go through.Quinn is so shy, but also a sweetheart and a romantic boy. I cried when I read the letter he wrote for Kaitlyn, and how he stood up for her when Alicia went back; and laughed when his mom caught he and Nola in ‘action’I’m looking forward to read Peyton/ and Noah’s wedding

Heidi has really done a great job with Quinn James becoming a man !!! This story keeps you interested from beginning to end , Eleanora was trying to make herself instead of living the Boone name . When her and Quinn meet the sparks are there they don’t know much of each other but they are drawn together . Then a darkness falls over someone who Quinn hoped to never lay eyes on comes in and changes everything or it seems . This is a must read from Heidi McLaughlin …..

Harrison James was my favourite of the guys from the Beaumont series, he has a heart that just oozed authenticity and as the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree because e Quinn James is every bit his father’s son and for me that meant that I was ready to fall in love all over again.Quinn likes the quiet life, pottering on the fringes of the music world, singing on open mike nights and generally keeping himself to himself, he doesn’t even date much, it’s too much hassle keeping a family like his under wraps so he doesn’t bother, mind you other than his Dad, Katelyn and the twins there are a lot more famous faces in his support network than most mortal women could cope with anyway. After all the rest of the band are hardly the shy retiring type.Eleanora (aka Nola) has just graduated college and is being railroaded by her southern family into returning home and settling down with the guy they’ve picked out for her…shame he doesn’t know or care about the fact that he seems to find monogamy impossible!Desperate to delay the inevitable, Nola heads to California on one last hurrah, a bit of freedom before heading home, and it is while she is there she finds not only herself but also Quinn, and the spark between them is instantaneousOf course, it is never all plain sailing with this author and she gives the two of them more than enough to deal with, happiness by the bucket load, tempered with a level of pain that was excruciating. When it all goes belly up for this pair the results are cataclysmic. But can they find a way back, well for most of the story it would appear not so I was a little concerned as to how the author would give me the happy ending that I was prepared to demand for him…I know we will get more of them in future books but I missed an epilogue, a sneaky glimpse a little further down the line.A fabulous book that I am ready to read all over again!

‘Chasing My Forever’ is part of the Beaumont series, starring the next generation of kids, from the books I adored which featured members of a rock band who just a small town boys. While it’s a Standalone, this is the third book and could have spoilers if you haven’t read the previous books, so it’s best to read them in order…. plus its a wonderful adventure…This is Quinn’s story, told in dual POV, and it’s a sweet romance with a little angst mixed in. I was so excited to get my hands on his book. Quinn is shy, kind, family oriented and just gorgeous.. I was so happy to read his HEA.Eleanora Boone had her future determined by her family based on the historical plantation, in South Carolina, that’s been in her family since the late seventeen hundreds. She’s supposed to marry her high school boyfriend, Roybert Aldridge, someone her parents more of less decided was a given years ago.Her one act of rebellion had been picking a university in Idaho to go to school, ensuring her parents wouldn’t visit often. Now that Eleanora has graduated, she feels the noose around her neck and doesn’t know what to do about it.“My family has deep southern roots. They’re like weeds, they never go away.”With a VW Beetle as a graduation gift, she convinces her parents she and her friend will drive home, while sightseeing along the way. Kellie, her college friend, invites her to stay in LA with her, rent free, so she can figure out what she wants to do… She decides to change her name to Nola, at the spur of the moment, end things with Roy after finding a job at a coffee shop, and this is where she meets Quinn…Quinn James is the son of a famous rocker and inherited his talents from him. Quinn never sought out the limelight, something everyone expects of him, preferring to sing at open mic night at a local coffee shop. He fears that someone from his past will reach out to him, someone Quinn has no desire of ever seeing, he’s had enough anxiety in his life as it is.“Quinn’s an old soul, he’s shy and prefers watching life from the outside.”When Quinn sees a new waitress at the coffee shop, he’s intrigued, surprising even himself. While others think he’s a little arrogant and standoffish, he’s really a shy person who’s never had a girlfriend before. After meeting Nola, Quinn thinks he’s found someone he could let into his life. These two have chemistry it’s fast but real. She has been keeping something a secret and when it comes to light all hell breaks loose. These two are good together. I loved every minute of it… and happily revisit this Beaumont family as often as Heidi let’s us in…
