LIC Cancer Cover offers two types of benefit payouts based on the cancer stage diagnosed:

1. Early Stage Cancer Benefits

  • Lump Sum: 25% of Applicable Sum Insured
  • Premium Waiver: Future premiums waived for next 3 policy years or balance term (whichever is lower)
  • ❌ No second claim under Early Stage Cancer allowed

Coverage continues for Major Stage Cancer even after Early Stage claim.


2. Major Stage Cancer Benefits

  • Lump Sum: 100% of Applicable Sum Insured (less any Early Stage claim)
  • Income Benefit: 1% of Sum Assured monthly for next 10 years, even if the policyholder dies during this period (nominee continues to receive income)
  • Premium Waiver: All future premiums waived after claim approval

No further benefits are paid after a claim under Major Stage Cancer.


Early Stage Cancer Exclusions:

  • All benign tumors
  • Tumors with borderline malignancy
  • Carcinoma in-situ of skin
  • Tumors present with HIV infection

Major Stage Cancer Exclusions:

  • CIN1, CIN2, and CIN3 of the cervix
  • Skin cancer without metastasis
  • All prostate cancers with Gleason ≤ 6 or T1N0M0
  • All thyroid cancers < 2 cm (T1N0M0)
  • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (Rai stage < 3)
  • Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (T1N0M0)

  • 180 days from policy start or risk commencement date, whichever is later.
  • No benefits payable if cancer is diagnosed within this waiting period.

  • Premiums eligible for tax deductions under Section 80D
  • Premiums are guaranteed for the first 5 years and may be revised based on LIC’s claim experience thereafter.
