D2C furniture brand Pepperfry has elevated its vice president-finance Madhusudan Bihani to the role of chief financial officer (CFO)
“With close to two decades of experience in finance, corporate compliance, taxation, and auditing, Bihani’s elevation marks a significant milestone for the company as it continues its growth trajectory,” Pepperfry said in a statement.
In his new role, Bihani will oversee the company’s corporate strategy, financial planning and operations, fundraising efforts, as well as legal and corporate affairs.
The statement further said that Bihani will help the company through its next phase of growth and expansion.
“I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to contributing towards Pepperfry’s growth story. The company’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence aligns perfectly with my professional ethos,” said Bihani.
He joined Pepperfry in 2019 as assistant vice president (AVP) finance and advanced to the role of VP-finance in 2021, as per his LinkedIn profile.
Bihani is a chartered accountant who has served FMCG major Kraft Heinz for a decade, before joining Pepperfry,
Founded in January 2012 by late Ambareesh Murty and Ashish Shah, Pepperfry sells a wide range of furniture and other home products including mattresses, dining and bar furniture, carpets, appliances, garden and outdoor, among others on its website. It also has an offline presence through its franchise model.
Pepperfry earlier this year postponed its initial public offering (IPO) plans after engaging with bankers over the past year. On shelving IPO plans, Shah said the company will instead focus on growth and profitability in the current financial year.
The company has been preparing for its initial public offering (IPO) since early 2022. In line with this, it even converted itself into a public entity in May 2022.
Pepperfry competes with the likes of WoodenStreet, Arrivae, and Green Soul in the online furniture market.
