A man has died after three people were stabbed at a London market.
Metropolitan Police said they were attacked on Sunday morning at East Street Market, off Walworth Road, close to Elephant & Castle.
A man, believed to be in his 60s, was arrested at the scene.
The two injured people – a man and a woman – were taken to hospital. Police said they were waiting for an update on their conditions.
It is understood the incident is mental-health related and police confirmed it isn’t being treated as terrorism.
Officers are not looking for anyone else but said the investigation was at an early stage.
Commander Peter Stevens said: “Tragically, a man lost his life this morning, and officers are working hard to establish exactly what happened and to provide support to his family. My thoughts and sincere sympathies are with them, and with the other people injured.”
