The brand new trailer for the upcoming Disney film Lilo & Stitch is here, and it should have families and fans saying, “Mahalo!”
This eagerly-anticipated live-action “reimagining” of the 2002 animated classic features a new cast telling the beloved story of a fugitive alien finding a family.
As you can see from the trailer, there are plenty of familiar scenes mixed with a few fresh takes on the story. From the comedic action of Stitch’s intergalactic escape to him (kinda) pretending to be a dog to surfing the waves along with Lilo and her sister Nani, this has the look of an experience that could feel like “ohana” for viewers.
The film will include a mix of voice and live performances. Chris Sanders returns as the original voice of “Stitch” while Hawaii native Maia Kealoha makes her film debut as “Lilo.” The rest of the cast features Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel The Shell with Shoes On), with a screenplay by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes. It’s produced by Jonathan Eirich, p.g.a. and Dan Lin, with Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, Louie Provost, Thomas Schumacher serving as executive producers.
