📋 How to Become a LIC Agent
1. Apply for LIC Agency
- Visit your nearest LIC Branch Office OR
- Schedule a meeting at your home/office with our representative
- Fill the Agency Application Form and submit the required documents
2. Documents Required
Please bring photocopies of the following documents:
- Recent passport-size photo
- Age Proof – Birth Certificate / School Leaving Certificate
- Educational Proof – 10th or 12th Marksheet
- PAN Card
- Address Proof – Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.
- Cancelled Cheque / Bank Passbook
- Signature Sample
3. Fees for Registration & Training

4. Training (25 Hours)

- Appear for the IRDAI online exam (conducted by NSEiT)
- Exam Format: 50 MCQs | Duration: 1 Hour
- Passing Marks: 17 out of 50
- On passing, you’ll receive your official LIC Agent License

💰 Commission Structure and Earnings
🟢 First-Year Commission
- Earn 25% to 28% of the first-year premium (under standard plans)
🟢 Bonus Commission
- Additional 40% bonus on eligible first-year commissions
(conditions apply on business volume and number of policies sold)
🟢 Renewal Commission
- 2nd & 3rd Year: 7.5% of the annual premium
- 4th Year onwards: 5% of the annual premium
- You earn commission every year your client renews their policy

🔸 Hereditary Commission
If an agent passes away after two or more years of active agency and has active business of at least ₹1 lakh, renewal commission continues to be paid to nominee or legal heirs.
🔸 Guaranteed Income Benefit
If your agency is terminated after 5+ years, you still get renewal commissions if business worth ₹2 lakhs was active one year prior to termination.
This condition is waived after 10 years of agency.
