Best waterproof jacket ever!!
This Helly Hansen waterproof jacket is outstanding. It can be used in warmer weather and can also be used in colder weather by layering. I am 5″6″ and 148 pounds and I purchased a Small and also a Medium size as well. Based on reviews – I purchased 2 of the jackets – as I was unsure which size to buy. The jacket is very slim and form fitting. The Small size fits very form fitting and I can wear it with a T-shirt or light pullover or long sleeve shirt underneath perfectly. The Medium size allows for heaver base layers to be used underneath the jacket in much colder conditions and gives more comfortable room for snow skiing and aerobic activities etc. I love how the jacket looks – the black color looks very classy and can be used in a variety of settings.

Nice features – be sure you want a fitted jacket!
Feature notes: The jacket is high quality and very good looking. YKK zippers, an inside pocket, and stowable hood. It has snaps on the front to close the storm flap over the zipper (versus Velcro). The wrist cuffs have a bit of elasticity and an extra snap adjustment to fine tune from there. The neck / collar is lined with a skin-friendly fleece which was an important variable for me. The body and arms have a light lining so wearing in short sleeves feels just fine. No pit zips though!Appearance: The Helly Hansen branding on many jackets is pretty bold. Itâs subdued in the black jacket variant which makes it versatile for office or casual use. Itâs really sharp!Fit: If you like all those features too, then the trick to whether you will like this jacket is if you prefer a very fitted torso/waist. I have tried on two other HH jackets and can confirm this is different than what you normally get for size âXâ. This has true to size sleeve length, shoulder and chest width, but then tapers down (a full size) in the torso and waist to a smaller size. If you carry noticeable âbellyâ you will likely not like this jacket. You could size up beyond your normal clothing size, but then the arms may be very long. If you are not carrying (much) extra belly you can order your size (or larger of the two if you straddle two sizes) and will have a very nice looking fit. It is more cut like a V than any jacket I own.I find the arm movement is also very good with little to no raising of the jacket when I lifer my arms.THIS JACKET IS A KEEPER – BUT IF YOU CARRY BELLY WEIGHT LOOK ELSEWHERE, OR TAKE YOUR CHANCES BY SIZING UP!

Great fit and a real solid jacket.
Finally a rain and wind jacket for those of us who are on the slim side! I usually wear a small so I got a small and voila, perfection. I had the Mountain Hardwear Plasmic (small) and it engulfed me. I’m 5’10 – 155 lbs. the fit is great for me and enough to put a thin fleece under it. Arm length is a little past the wrist. The waist is a wee bit snug but that’s just a small quibble. Solid looking jacket! Im gonna take it for a spin as a shell for skiing so we’ll see how it holds up!Update:Took it out and used it as a shell for snow skiing. Temps were about 33 degrees or so, not too cold IMO. Had a base layer and a ultra light down jacket then the HH. I was thoroughly impressed on how it kept the wind out, breathed and kept me very comfortable. The high collar was nice as I would just zip it up and down when necessary. So far so good! We’ll see how it holds up long term but for now, it’s a great buy!

Great jacket but very narrow, runs very small
Originally ordered a Mens Medium for a 6′ tall male about 130lbs. Was way too small. Returned for an Mens XL which will comfortably fit over a hooded sweatshirt.

Great Fit & Comfort
Iâm very happy with this purchase. The jacket seems to be high quality and the fit is perfect. Iâm 6â3 195lb and went with a large. Went in the rain today and the water beads up and runs off. The pockets are lined with a short fuzzy material which probably helps for a little warmth too.

Nice jacket-runs small
This is a nice jacket â I would buy it again. However, as other reviewers have noted, it runs on the small side. My last rain jacket was a medium but based on the reviews I ordered this in large which turned out to be a good decision. I wanted some extra room to allow me to wear a sweater or light fleece underneath and also a little extra length to fall slightly below the waist, The large size accomplishes that, yet the sleeves donât seem to be too long. Even so, the jacket seems to still fit snuggly around the mid section. Iâve worn it a few times in light to moderate rain and it has kept me dry while the hood ties have kept the hood on in a stiff wind. The inside pocket is nice for storing my cell phone; the outside pockets are not as deep as those on my previous jacket but seem sufficient and have a nice soft lining that keeps your hands warm when needed. I havenât worn it in warm weather yet but after a day wearing it while doing moderate paced walking in 50 degree temperatures it seemed to let the perspiration out sufficiently. The hood stows away nicely and without too much hassle when not in use. I wish it had a 2-way zipper to allow you to unzip it from the bottom when sitting down. The Velcro closures keeping the storm flap closed over the zipper are a nice touch and the velcro around the wrists allow you to get the type of fit that you want in that area. All in all, it seems to be a good purchase for a casual rain jacket that can be worn in a variety of situations.

for those worried about fit
Great coat! For my experience I am 5’9 and 198lbs so I am not slim, but pretty fit. I work in carpentry and in colder weather I use lots of layers. This jacket covers me great, just enough to allow for easy movement, but not like I’m wearing a tent. I usually go for an xl but this time went for 2 xl and I’m very happy. Hope this helps!!
by I never received my package. I had a package delivered and it was the wrong package and I personally delivered it to the right floor. My package had a picture of my door with no door number.
I bought this jacket for a gift. Itâs a nice looking jacket but a lot lighter than I was expecting. The size runs smaller than the usual sizes. Better to size up 1 size. My son wears a menâs small but a medium wouldâve fit better.

Nice jacket. Light. Ordered 3XL however the fit was very short. Could see bottom of sweaters under it. Sent it back.
