Hyundai Motor India recently unveiled the Creta Electric, the electrified iteration of its best-selling SUV in India. The EV is set to debut officially at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and now, the carmaker has confirmed a host of details about the model, including its features, power specs, safety features and more. Here, let’s quickly take a look at what’s on offer.
Hyundai Creta Electric: What we know so far
The Creta Electric resembles its ICE counterpart in design, featuring connected LED DRLs, vertically stacked headlights, and LED tail lights. However, EV-specific elements like a closed-off grille, an integrated charging port, and aerodynamic 17-inch alloy wheels give it a distinct identity. It also features Active Air Flaps which are aimed at optimizing aerodynamics.
Performance-wise, the SUV is available with two battery options: a 42 kWh battery offering 390 km range and a 51.4 kWh battery delivering 473 km (both ARAI-certified). The long-range variant boasts a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 7.9 seconds. Charging options include a DC fast charger that powers up from 10-80% in 58 minutes and an 11 kW home charger capable of a full charge in 4 hours.
The carmaker, now, has also revealed that the long-range variant will put out 171 PS, substantially more than the Creta N-Line (160 PS) while the 42 kWh battery pack trim will make 135 PS.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Features
The Creta Electric is packed with features, including Level 2 ADAS with 19 functions, i-Pedal technology for single-pedal driving, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for powering external devices. The cabin features dual 10.25-inch curved displays for infotainment and the digital cluster. Besides that, there’s an in-car payment system that simplifies EV charging payments directly via the infotainment screen.
In terms of safety, there are more than 75 advanced safety features, 52 of which come as standard. These include six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control, and Hyundai SmartSense ADAS for intelligent driver assistance. Other highlights include a digital key that allows for the car to be unblocked, locked using a smartphone or a smartwatch. It also has dual-zone automatic climate control, cooled glove box, front arm rest with cooled storage, and a battery heating technology that will ensure optimum performance during cold weather conditions.
The Creta Electric will be offered in four trims: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Upon launch, it is expected to compete with rivals such as the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, among others.
