Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has officially stepped into the electric vehicle market. The bookings for the recently unveiled electric scooters, Activa e: and QC1. have commenced. Both scooters can be booked for a nominal token amount of Rs 1,000. The Activa e: can be booked at select Honda dealerships in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, while the QC1 is available in additional cities, including Pune, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. Deliveries for both models will begin in February 2025, with pricing details set to be revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 later this month.

Honda Activa e: Battery, range and features

The Activa E, a premium offering, is powered by dual 1.5 kWh swappable batteries, delivering a total capacity of 3 kWh. This setup offers a range of 102 km on a full charge. Its 6kWmotor generates 22 Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 80 kmph and an acceleration time of 0-60 kmph in just 7.3 seconds.

Riders can choose from three riding modes—Econ, Standard, and Sport. The scooter is also equipped with a 7-inch TFT display integrated with the Honda RoadSync Duo smartphone app for navigation and other smart features. Additional features include Honda’s H-Smart key system and a range of five colours like Pearl Serenity Blue and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic.

Honda QC1: Battery, range and features

The QC1 is tailored for short-distance travel, featuring a fixed 1.5 kWh battery that delivers a range of 80 km. Its in-wheel motor produces a modest output of up to 1.8 kW, with a top speed of 50 kmph. The QC1 comes with a 5-inch LCD display, a USB Type-C charging port, and 26-litre under-seat storage.
Charging the QC1 is convenient, with the battery reaching 80% capacity in 4 hours and 30 minutes through a home setup. Similar to the Activa E, the QC1 is offered in five colours.
Both scooters share advanced hardware, including telescopic front forks and adjustable rear suspension. The Activa E includes a front disc brake for added stopping power, while the QC1 is equipped with drum brakes on both ends.
Honda is providing a comprehensive 3-year/50,000 km warranty for both models, along with three free services and one year of complimentary roadside assistance. Both models will be manufactured at Honda’s Narsapura plant in Karnataka.
