Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the new and updated Honda Activa 125 scooter in the Indian market. The new scooter is offered in two variants – DLX and H-Smart, priced at Rs 94,422 and Rs 97,146 (ex-showroom). The Scooter is offered in 6 colour options – Pearl Igneous Black, Matt Axis Gray Metallic, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Pearl Siren Blue, Rebel Red Metallic, and Pearl Precious White. The new Activa 125 will directly compete with the TVS Jupiter 125 and interested customers can book the scooter by visiting their nearest dealership and the deliveries are expected to begin soon.
The updated scooter now features a 4.2-inch TFT display replacing the LCD screen. It supports Honda’s RoadSync app, which features Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, call and text alerts. It now also comes with a USB type C charging port. The scooter continues to be powered by the same 123.92cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 8.3 bhp of power and 10.5 Nm torque. It comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and it now also comes with an idle stop system. This engine is now updated to meet OBD2B specifications which go into effect in 2025. Other than this, there are no cosmetic changes made to the scooter.
The DLX trim gets a key fob whereas the H-Smart variant features keyless ignition which is priced at Rs 97,146, which marks a significant increase from the current starting price of Rs 80,256 for the Activa 125. This hike can be attributed, in part, to the inclusion of more advanced emissions monitoring technology. Currently, Honda has introduced only two variants, but more budget-friendly options with basic features, such as a front drum brake, might be launched later, potentially lowering the starting price.
Introducing the OBD2B Activa 125, Mr Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “We are happy to announce the new OBD2B-compliant Activa 125. The introduction of this updated model demonstrates our commitment to customer satisfaction. With advanced features like a TFT display & Bluetooth connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app in the 125cc scooter segment, we aim to redefine the riding experience for customers. We are confident that it will set the benchmark in its segment.”
