Toyota Kirloskar Motor has finally launched the new Toyota Camry sedan in the Indian market with prices starting from Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Camry features an all-new design, new interior layout, additional features, and added safety. It also has more fuel efficiency than the previous model, thanks to the next-generation hybrid system. The new Camry is priced at Rs 1.83 lakh more than its predecessor, which was available at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers can book the sedan online or by visiting their nearest dealership and the deliveries will begin immediately.
The new Toyota Camry in its 9th generation is based on the same TNGA-K platform which is used in multiple Toyota and Lexus cars such as Alphard, Sienna, Venza, Lexus ES, Lexus RX and more. The new Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation Hybrid System dubbed THS 5. The new model puts out 230hp of power and has claimed fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl. The engine comes paired with an e-CVT gearbox.
In terms of design, the Camry is based on Toyota’s global design language and is an evolution of the outgoing model. At the front, it gets a new headlamp design integrated with a black element that spans the front of the vehicle. The sedan also features a honeycomb-patterned grille, painted to match the body colour, extending toward the lower section of the car. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the previous model, the roofline appears more sloped, and the rear quarter glass is larger and more angled. At the rear, the changes are minimal with redesigned tail lamps and rear bumper.
Moving inside, the Camry features a new interior layout and gets a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a nine-speaker JBL audio system, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple Caraplay/Android Auto, HUD display, three-zone climate control, 10-way powered front seats with heated and ventilated function, electric sunroof and more. The rear seat also features reclining and ventilation functions, controls in a rear centre console and a retractable sunshade.

Safety-wise, it gets Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite with features such as pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road sign recognition, automatic high beam and more. Other safety features include 9 airbags, parking sensors front and back and a 360-degree camera. The Camry will be brought to India via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and will compete directly with Skoda Superb. Given its pricing, the new Camry serves as a potential alternative to models such as the Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class, and BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine.
