Mahindra and Mahindra are all set to reveal the two new all-electric SUV offerings, one each under the XEV and BE brands, the XEV 9e and the BE 6e on November 26, 2024. The company had previously released a teaser that gave us a glimpse of their exterior design. And now, Mahindra has released yet another teaser which shows the interior design of the XEV 9e and the BE 6e.
The interior design of the BE 6e features an aircraft cockpit design split centre console. It features a two-spoke steering wheel with twin screens for the infotainment and for the instrument cluster which will likely measure more than 10.25 inches. The steering wheel features an illuminated BE logo, similar to what we’ve seen in Tata Motors cars and it has two toggle switches on either side with two regen buttons. Additionally, the BE 6e will also get futuristic-looking front seats with pillar-mounted headrests and it also gets a panoramic roof with a geometric pattern.
The XEV 9e on the other hand, gets a triple screen layout with more futuristic elements. The XEV 9e will also have a touch-based control panel, again similar to what we’ve seen in Tata Motors cars. It will place controls for the air conditioning, hazard lights and other functions. The centre console will house an illuminated gear selector which by the way looks like an upgraded version of the one seen in the XUV 400. It will house other controls such as an electronic parking brake switch, auto hold button, TCS and more. It will also feature a panoramic roof with an illuminated version of the new ‘Infinity’ logo motifs embedded.
The seats in the XEV 9e have a more traditional design, and both are expected to offer rear-seat entertainment screens as an option, with mounts visible on the backrests. The 9e will get similar similar-looking steering wheel as the BE 6e but might get minor cosmetic upgrades. The steering wheel gets toggle buttons for all the functions and also for ADAS functionalities. Other highlights include ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, LED cabin lights, illuminated surrounds and more. It will be interesting to see how many of the cabin design elements shown here make it to the production model.
The XEV 9e and BE 6e are based on the INGLO platform and the company says it’s equipped with advanced safety features designed to meet and potentially exceed industry standards. The architecture aims to deliver a high-efficiency drivetrain with a focus on range, however, there are no any details revealed by the company. The company also said that the XEV 9e will redefine electric luxury, while the BE 6e delivers bold, athletic performance.
The XEV 9e is electrified couple version of the ICE XUV 700 and Mahindra says that XEV 9e will bring “electric luxury” to a new level, likely incorporating premium materials, cutting-edge interior design, and an array of comfort-focused technologies. There are no any details on battery, e-motor, features or range. This is expected to take on upcoming Tata Harrier EV and is expected to be offered in RWD, it’s also expected that the XEV 9e will share its battery pack and powertrain with the BE 6e. The XEV 9e will feature a three-screen display, including a dedicated screen for the front passenger. Additional interior elements are anticipated to be similar to those in the XUV700.
