Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 electric motorcycle revealed: Launch details out – Times of India

Royal Enfield has finally revealed its first electric motorcycle in Milan, Italy. Called Flying Flea C6, it’s the first electric motorcycle by RE and will go on sale C6 will go on sale by March 2026. The Flying Flea is a a new subsidiary for EVs by Royal Enfield and there’s also an S6 scrambler which is under development.

The Flying Flea draws heavy design inspiration from old school motorcycle developed by Royal Enfield during the Second World War. It has a low-slung bobber motorcycle style, with its raked-out front end and features girder-style fork, a suspension style that was popular in the 1940s. The e-motorcycle is based on a forged aluminium frame and gets round headlight, tail-light and indicators which are LEDs.

The e-motorcycle also gets a circular TFT instrument cluster which puts out various details such as speed, trip meter, battery, range and many EV-specific details. It will also get Bluetooth connectivity with navigation display and is also expected to get connected features. Other features include traction control, cornering ABS, cruise control and five ride modes making it the first Royal Enfield to include these advanced safety features.

The Flying Flea C6 is based on a forged aluminium frame, a rarity in the budget-friendly EV market. Nestled within this frame is a magnesium battery casing, which helps in improved cooling and also weight reduction. The company has not revealed any details regarding the battery pack or e-motor, it’s expected to get a battery pack larger than 5kWh and a real-world range between 150-200 km in one full charge.

The C6 is equipped with narrow tyres, which enhance its agility in urban environments and help maximize range by reducing rolling resistance. The tyres are shod on 10-spoke alloy wheels on both ends, and employs a mid-mounted e-motor. It also gets disc brakes on both ends and it features a solo seat, it’s expected that the Flying Flea will also offer a pillion seat at an optional extra or there could also be another variant with twin seats.

The exact details regarding the battery pack, range and e-motor will be revealed sometime later. The company has also announced it will follow up the C6 with a scrambler-style electric motorcycle named the Flying Flea S6 which is under development. It’s still not known whether the Flying Flea e-motorcycles will be sold via existing Royal Enfield dealerships or by a separate Flying Flea dealer network.
